Baby Girl!

So we went to the ultrasound on friday and everything looked great! The baby is healthy and everything is normal. When she went to check the sex of the baby it wouldn't open the legs though, but the tech looked from the bottom and said she was 90 percent sure it was a GIRL. Josh and I were both very surprised and are still doubting it a little, we both were thinking it was going to be a boy. Next time we go in I am going to see if I can sneak in the ultrasound room again to get a better look and hopefully baby will be a little more cooperative next time!

She is very flexible, that is her leg stretching up over her body and you can see the little toes almost to the top of her head.

This is the bottom of the feet, I just thought it looked cute

A little blurry, but this is me at 5 months.
I have only gained about 6 pounds so far, not too bad.

Of course after we found out it was a girl I had to go buy the "first outfit" The jacket also has a little hood lined with pink and the hat is just so little and cute.
I can't wait to see it on her for real :)

5 More Days...

Only 5 more days (friday) until we find out if it's a boy or girl, we are SO excited!! :) Most people say its going to be a boy, any guesses?

Demo Derby Year 2

We went to the fair again this year and saw the demo derby, they are so much fun! We had several friends go and had a blast picking out which car was "ours" and rooting it on as they got demolished. Rhett's car won...but mine was only 5th place!

Here we are right before the race. Brooklyn (baby in red) loved it and clapped and laughed the entire time. She just turned one on my birthday!

There's "pink thunder", the car i was cheering for. Josh's is the orange one in the back, he was out in the very beginning.

I love it when the cars smoke. Not these two, but two other cars caught on fire, it was cool.

We walked around the fair before the derby and saw some of the animals there. There were cows, sheep, goats and horses. We also got food of course and some delicious huckleberry ice cream.

Colorado/Oklahoma/Arkansas

Josh went to his best friends wedding this last weekend at the Oklahoma City temple. He then traveled to the hometown of the groom, Josh Ammons, in Arkansas for the reception and was one of the groomsmen. Josh's new wife Sally is from Mexico so they had lots of mexican food and music at the reception which was on the Ammons' farm.

Josh and Sally's first dance

Josh and some of the men that were part of the wedding.

Since I was going to be alone for 5 days, my mom was going to come out to WA but I figured if she was going to buy a plane ticket anyway I would rather come to her in CO. So I did. We shopped for baby stuff, went to the movies, a baseball game and enjoyed our time off work together. It's always fun and nice to go home for a few days and relax. This is us at the Rockies game! They played the diamondbacks and won.

3rd Anniversary

August 17th we celebrated our anniversary. The day before was Sunday and Josh's brother left that morning. We went to church and while Josh was teaching second hour I snuck out and packed our bags for a little getaway.

I told him we were going to the park for a picnic but actually kept driving, for about 3 hours, and surprised him with a stay at a B&B in a cute little town called Wenatchee, WA.

Ivy Wild Inn B&B

That night we went to this cute Italian restaurant when we got in around 8pm. We were starving and they had great bread!

The next day we went to some gardens a few minutes away that were very pretty and peaceful. It was a great way to relax and enjoy time together before the start of Josh's 2nd year of school.

Josh is in the picture on the left sitting on a bench. This was my favorite pool of water there. There was about 5 all together.

After the gardens we drove about 20 minutes to Leavenworth, WA which is a Bavarian little town and has cute little shops and everything is decorated like Germany.

After walking around Leavenworth we headed back to Spokane and ate dinner at a five star hotel downtown called the Davenport Hotel. They have a small restaurant inside called the Safari Room. It tasted really good and was a great way to end our anniversary.

Happy Anniversary Joshua! Here's to another great year to add onto the last 3! This will be our last anniversary without children, I was a little sad thinking about that. We have had so much fun just the two of us, but are looking forward to being a family of three before we know it. I love having a special day we can think about the years before us, our wedding day, and and the years ahead of us.

Brothers Come to Visit

A few weeks ago Derek and Ty came to visit from CA for a few days. It was so much fun to have company in the house and enjoy being around their craziness.

We went to the golfing range the second night they came. Derek's a lefty and had to use clubs from the clubhouse for a whole 50 cents. They were really nice clubs...

This is the poor sap who got hit by Tyler's ball on "accident" He was actually pretty far away and we had a good laugh along with the people next to us after hearing the clink of the ball hitting the cage.

The Spokane museum had movie costumes this month that were used in popular movies. Here are a few we saw:

This is actually Robin's outfit from the TV series of Batman in 1966. I thought it was funny because the main part is just one of those green t-shirts you can buy at Wal-mart for like $5.

I'm sure most people already know, but here is the original darth vader costume.

Ghostbusters Gear. Favorite movie line: "Listen...do you smell something?"

Me compared to the actual size of darth vader.

Josh with his oh-so-serious Darth Vader face on.

We also played nine holes of golf at the nearby 3-par course. Aren't they so cool?

Baby Green- 4 months

So I'm getting a little ahead of myself, i'm actually not 4 months until next week...but it's close enough so that I don't have to put the amount of weeks and you are sitting there counting on your fingers of how long that really is, at least that's what i do when people tell me weeks instead of months.

I chose this dress to take the picture in because it really shows off the "baby bump" for all of those who don't get to see it, and of course for my kid to see one day.

NEED A JOB

Today I found out my hours are being cut in half, which means I can't live off of what they are going to pay me. I've always found that getting jobs through knowing people is the best way.

SO...if you know of anyone who is HIRING in Spokane please let me know asap! I only have 2 weeks before it starts so I need to be quick about it. One that includes health insurance for this baby would be nice. Thanks everyone

Baby Suggestions?!

I'm sure most newly pregnant women might think this, but I'm already starting to get overwhelmed with everything that babies need! I'm sure I'll get some things from baby showers, but I still would like to get advice from the many mothers out there who have already done this.

SO...please let me know what has or hasn't worked for you for things like:

Cribs?
Bobby Pillow? (is it really that helpful?)
Stroller?
Car Seat?
High Chair?
Swings or bouncy chair?

Any cute websites or blogs on how to make baby bumpers, blankets, curtains etc?

I've heard there are discount websites for diapers, but not sure what they are?

Any books I should read before the baby comes? I know I won't have much energy or time to read them after, so any books that help with getting babies to sleep or good ideas in general?

That should cover most of the things I lay at night thinking about so far. Any other suggestions or advice for pregnancy and/or baby stuff would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone :) (oh, and any cute stores for maternity clothes??)
