5 Months

I feel like I just barely posted that Mr Mac was 4 months!  But as it goes with babies time seems to be speeding by. Although fast, its also been painstakingly slow at the same time, with him not sleeping more than 3 hours at night in the past month and a half. He started off getting sick with a cold and ear infection so to calm him down in the night we would feed him. Now that is kicking us in the butt as he is still waking up and refuses to go back to sleep without being fed. (even with up to an hour and a half of screaming his head off) So, here we are, trying just about anything and everything to try and see how we can get him to sleep longer at night. Other than that....

*Grabs everything and anything in sight (yep, even the sacrament tray as it passes by, be careful, he's getting quick!)
*Rolling easily from back to front now.  Sometimes gets stuck on his belly and gets ticked off before he figures out he can roll back but getting better all the time.
*Still won't stand up on his legs. Will kick and push off of things but pulls them up if you try and make him stand
*Getting better at holding his bottle but still needs a little help sometimes
*On all formula, no more milk from mom
*Smiles at everyone and everything, it adorable. Really enjoying the big gummy smile
*Still swaddle him to sleep but gets his arms out within a couple of minutes every time anyway. Would just not swaddle him but he has to grab his binkie and then gets ticked off when he pulls it out of his mouth, haha
*Loves being outside. Even when super tired he is usually a happy camper if we are outside
*Went to the water park for the first time. Seemed to really enjoy sticking his feet in the water and watching it splash up on his legs. Was a little windy so we didn't get him all the way in so he didn't get cold.
*Size 2 Diapers
*Drinks about 8 oz. bottles every 4 hours
*6 month clothes
*Weight update: Took him back to the doctor twice within 2 weeks of his 4 month appointment and had gained half a pound each time. So I think the he will definitely be up to par now that he is gaining a pound every 2 weeks!

Festival Downtown

We went to a little festival-type thing downtown called "Disney Days" It really didn't have much to do with Disney, so that was disappointing, but they had a ton of booths advertising stuff, and then a few kid activities. Not as a cool as I thought it was going to be, but we still had a lot of fun

Here's Lyla with some of the free goodies we got from the booths:

Hard to tell, but Sadie and Lyla are at the top ready to slide down! Lyla was nervous so Sadie just yanked her arm down and Lyla came tumbling and sliding head first. I thought she was going to get up and cry, but nope, laughing hysterically

There was a stage with kids singing/dancing so we sat and watched for awhile
 Mac hung with grandma...

While the girls got this done: Lyla's FIRST face painting. She loved it

But what she loved even more: The TRAIN. Her first little ride alone (for fear she would try to get out mid-ride or something) But not only did she do great, she had a blast. The best $2 I have ever spent. First is Crew, then Sadie, and Lyla in the 3rd car.

Every time she rode by us she would light up, huge smile, and wave shouting "Hi mom! Hi mom!" It may have been one of the cutest things I have ever witnessed seeing that cute little body in that train car loving every minute.
Doesn't show her waving in the video, but she does look dang cute riding by

A Few Giggles

He's Mobile...

Well...a little bit anway :)
Been rolling over for about a month now, but just every once in awhile. Now every time I lay him down he flips over within a couple minutes. He can go from his back to the belly best, and then can get back to his back but can't always figure it out right away and gets ticked off if he's on tummy time too long (Too long being approx 3 minutes, haha) and I have to come help him flip back over.

Father's Day

The day started with cruising down to my parents house for the day. Half way there Lyla puked in the car, a lot. We stopped at a gas station and cleaned it up and then continued down the road anyway since we had the group fathers day gift, dessert, and well, we just wanted to go.

It was a good idea to keep going, Lyla was chipper the rest of the day and for the most part felt fine and we had a blast spending time with the pop's and Wally's fam.

Lyla with no shirt due to it being in the laundry, she didn't mind. She is holding a frame that we gave to Dad that has multiple pics of the kids to put on Josh's desk at work, since the only one now is one from last year, which needed to be updated since a new munchkin has come along since then!
Haha, the "father's day" picture. Its super bright outside so Mac is frowning, and Lyla refused to smile. I had taken her away from playing with cousins to take the picture and she would not have it. She sat there for .2 seconds and screamed before and after. She sure loves playing with Crew and Sadie. Nothing will get in between that.
Helping grandpa open his gift from everyone. Its a telescope. They now live out in farmville with great views of stars so we felt he needed one.
The only picture I got with all 3 dad's that we got to celebrate. It sure was a fun day and we loved being all together. Its only the beginning of many memories made at the new house. We really are lucky to have my parents here now so we can all be together for family events like these. The kids love each other, and play so well. Even though both Crew and Lyla were sick we sacrificed and got together anyway :)

What great father's we have to thank and celebrate on Father's Day.
*My dad has always been an involved, loving, amazing Dad. Even on father's day he stood out on the driveway and helped me dig out and clean barf from the backseat of my car. That's true love.
*Josh is the best thing in the world to our kids. Truly Lyla's hero.
*Mike is also a wonderful father who thankfully showed Josh how to be the great dad he is today.

Happy Father's Day!

Lyla's New Passion...

Her "Skooda" (Scooter)

Lyla is currently obsessed with all moving objects including cars, buses, trucks, motorcycles, and scooters. I never noticed how many buses and motorcycles were on the road until I had a 2 year old in the back seat that yells out "BUS! GOGERCYCLE!" at least once every two minutes.

With cars, she has to name everyone's car that she recognizes at any given moment. "Mamas car...dadas car... papas car" And even if we are out and about and she thinks she sees a car that is similar to someones she points it out and will repeatedly tell you whose car it is until you confirm it.

So it came to be, with her love of all things that move, that we felt she was in "need" of a new scooter. We are still working on the bike skills, so for now we got her something we knew she already knew how to do and absolutely loves. Since we got it she will shout out SKOOTA! multiple times a day and request to go ride it. It was so worth every penny.

And it melts my heart a little to see her feel like the big kids around here that all have Razor scooters

Tastin the Toes

He has been grabbing his toes a lot, but today he found the true joy of getting them all the way up to his mouth and eating them!
He almost has all 5 of them in there!

I love that he is using his arm to pull his leg up to get that extra little leverage
in order to get the toes in there, ha, so cute

It sure is fun watching him learn and grow.
Even though its the second time around the little milestones are just as exciting and fun as the first time :)

Hogle Zoo

Checked out the zoo since it was only mid 70s last week

Went with Miles and Shelly. Those two are cute little buddies. Decided to get a wagon to try and keep them contained but have freedom to get out and see the animals.

As I thought, this is what they did most of the time:
Just being Eagles in the Eagle nest
They have a new exhibit with polar bears, seals, and sea lions.
The seals kept swimming by over and over, the kids loved it
Mac slept most of the time, and woke up for a little bit to flash his sweet smiles
At the end we rode the train and played at the playground.
It had fun zoo-themed stuff to play on including this fun little egg
It was a great day at the zoo with great weather and great company!

2 Little Cuties

Lyla is in love with her sunglasses lately, with or without clothes doesn't matter to her
Oh, just readin The Hungry Caterpillar, WITH the Caterpillar, so cool
Makin sure we get that tummy time in!
Lyla already figured out how to get the stool over to the shelf with the goodies at Grandma's new house

Bee's Game

We got invited by the young women's leader in our ward, Andrea, and her 7 year old son Connor, to go to the Bee's game this past weekend. We got the cheap seats on the grass, it was a fun time just hangin on the grass letting Lyla run around. Mac was a happy camper the whole time just laying on the blanket staring up at the sky.

Lyla got her first taste of one of mom's favorite past times: Cotton Candy!
See that happy face?! She loved it of course, and got it everywhere
