Children's Museum

Yesterday we went to the children's museum in salt lake with our friends Miles and Shelly. Miles and Lyla had a great time exploring everything and it was fun to watch them check out all the fun things they have to do there.

I think one of Lyla's favorite parts was the ball area with lots of tubes
and other fun things to put them on/in

Really cool life flight helicopter that was donated to the museum. You get to push all the buttons and pretend to fly

I think i'm going to put this skill to use at home...

My little shopper
I love her little surprised face looking up at Shelly showing her how
excited she is about this cool water area

Newscaster with her serious face on telling the world about an important story, and she even has her fist up, you better be listening!

Parents Visit

The Green's rolled into town last weekend just to visit and my dad also happened to be here looking for different areas in Utah to move to. We didnt have a lot of time together, but one thing we did was wander around Wheeler Farm.

Some lady who works there, us, and Connie

We also went out to dinner with everyone to Rodizio Grill to celebrate Josh passing the bar. It was a quick visit for everyone, but as always nice to see some family

BEST NEWS OF THE YEAR!

It's official...

JOSH PASSED THE BAR!!

We got the long awaited news this morning that Josh's hard work paid off and he passed. It was sent in an email with just a list of everyone's bar number with either pass or fail next to it. It felt so good to see a big PASS next to his number.

Josh yelled, I yelled, we got excited. It not only means he is forever done with that awful test, but also that law school is finally over. No more school work, studying, tests etc etc

I'm sure Josh was the most excited out of anyone, but me (and Lyla) were pretty excited to be done with that chapter in our families life. We found out that our friends Andy and Aaron also passed so we all got babysitters and went out together for a celebration at the Cheesecake Factory. It was a long wait and the food was slow but no one really seemed to care because we were all just so happy for ourselves and each other for a job well done!

CONGRATS JOSH!! I'm so proud to be your wife :)

Now onto the next big step....finding employment. Ugh

Sweet Little Lyla

Lyla does some pretty cute and sometimes mischievous things when I'm not lookin

Yesterday she decided to climb in the laundry basket and bring her pillow pet and book with her. She was just sitting in there babbling away reading the book to herself

Tonight after dad gave Lyla a bath he was in a hurry and didn't let the water out but got her all ready for bed and then headed off to the gym. I was in the kitchen and noticed she had gone back into the bathroom, which usually these days is to play in the toilet water..., so I went in to check on her and saw her just standing in the tub sucking her thumb looking at me all sweet like she was thinking "mom, i came in and saw the bubbles and couldn't help myself, I had to get back in". She lifted up her leg a little and grabbed her PJ's to show me they were wet. I couldn't help but just sit there and laugh and of course grab the camera. I took her PJ's off after catching some pictures and just let them drop in the tub since they were half soaked anyway and Lyla looked back "uh-oh"...as if she was worried that they had dropped and got wet..haha.
She sure keeps life light and fun and we love her little personality so much

UT State Fair

We went to check out the state fair this past Monday night and enjoyed the fun and food

There is a little area called "Little Hands on the Farm" and the kids get to go around to different stations and pretend to be a farmer for the day
Picking the apples off the tree
Here she had just gathered some corn kernels in her bucket to feed to the cows

And of course, drivin the tractor

Wasn't too sure of the pigs, besides this one most were loud and moving around a lot

But she LOVED the sheep and got to pet several of them

Cute little piggies

Harris' Visit

Tuesday and Wednesday we got the awesome opportunity to meet up with the Harris' who now live in Portland but were in UT for a reunion. We had the Days come down and went up Millcreek Canyon to yet again have a picnic and roast mallows because we had so much fun doing it with my family in the canyon last weekend!

Lyla LOVED having Auntie Heather visit, they have always been good buds

The Harris' slept over at our place Tuesday night so we got on Skype and talked to the Barney's to check up on how they were doing. It was a little mini reunion and we loved it. On Wednesday we woke up and had a delicious breakfast together, later that afternoon we went up to Boondocks and played mini golf and some arcade games.

A mean game of skeeball. Heather might have beat me about 4 times...

Labor Day Weekend

Friday and the first half of Saturday were spent in salt lake celebrating, but then we head down to see Wally's fam and hang out with my parents.

We went up AF canyon and had a picnic and roasted mallows. It was a great time just hanging out in the awesome canyon and enjoyed watching the kids explore the forest

Lyla and Crew love to watch each other and do what the other is doing. They threw rocks together for quite awhile

I LOVE living closer to Wally's family now and getting the cousins together. They all enjoy being around each other and is so much fun getting to see them more often!

Sunday we got together and had a BBQ at Wally's. Monday my Mom, Aunt Cindy and I went maternity clothes shopping and the boys met up with us after for lunch. It was a short and fast weekend, but good to see the rents as usual and bid them farewell monday afternoon hoping to see them again soon.

Celebrating Our Anniversary

For labor day weekend my parents came into town and offered to watch Lyla for a night. So we took advantage of it being just a few weeks after our anniversary and went out on the town.

We ate dinner at The Roof which is an amazing buffet at the top of the
JS Building on temple square

This is the view we had, right from our table! The temple was so amazing and romantic, perfect for an anniversary celebration, Best part of the meal besides the view and company was the food, ok, so really I mean the dessert, there were TWENTY to choose from, I tried about 10 and vowed to come back and try the other ten next year!

After dinner we escaped off to the Anniversary Inn which has themed rooms, ours was The Phantom of the Opera. It was more fun than just a traditional hotel room and we got breakfast in bed brought to us the next morning.

After sleeping in and eating our breakfast we headed off to Park City to go down the alpine slide

We finished off our day by going to Wally's house to meet up with the munchkin and the rest of the fam (see next post)
