The Move

We recently moved to Colorado for an internship that Josh got at the department of securities downtown Denver. It just so happens my parents live 20 minutes from Denver so we moved in last week and have been taking over the house with all of our stuff!

We flew while dad drove our stuff over. Lyla did great on her first flight! Here she is holding on ready for take-off :)

A big thank you to Josh's dad for helping us move all of our stuff over! I know Josh really appreciated having a driving buddy on the long 18 hour drive.

Louie is having a hard time adjusting to the new "baby" in the house, he isn't getting all of the attention he used to!

Hangin with grandpa, (i love the crossed legs). He even got to change a poopy diaper the other day, Lucky!!

Dad and Lyla looking out the front window, we are loving living in a real house with no annoying neighbors and having A/C is the best!

Mother's Day

It was a great first mothers day! I woke up to Lyla handing me my favorite thing in the world- See's candy. They were even all individually picked out to make sure I loved every piece, and I did, it was gone by the end of the day, haha.

Here she is all ready for church (done by daddy) holding the candy

Out on the grass by our apartment, had to take a "first mothers day" pic

That same day she made a "milestone" and grabbed her toy several times, and actually on purpose, not just by accident! I thought she looked so cute with her little tongue out concentrating so hard to grab on. Such a little thing but I was so proud of her :)

Being a mother is the best thing in the world. I know, everyone says that, but it really is. I wake up every morning smiling knowing I get to spend the day with such a sweet little girl who I love so much. Don't get me wrong, every day isn't just a bundle of happiness and and ease, but all the hard work is definitely worth it. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and daughter. Thank you Josh (and Lyla) for making my first mothers day so special :)

And also, of course, a big thank you to my wonderful mother for raising me with such love and care, being such a great example of how to raise my own daughter. Mothers day definitely has a different tone to it now that I know how truly strong a mothers love is for her children.
