7 Months

I know I say it every month, but its still true, time is going by too quickly with this sweet little boy. He is now closer to 1 years old than newborn. AUGHH!!! Here is what he's up to:

*Size 3 diapers
*Sits up like a champ, and rarely falls over
*Takes 2 or 3 naps a day. Most naps are 2-3 hours long
*Don't swaddle him anymore, just a binkie and his bed is all he needs
*Sleep about 12-13 hours a night, waking up once. 8:30pm-9am
*Starting to pull his knees up but doesn't quite get the whole moving forward thing yet
*6 months clothes are getting tight
*Still no stranger danger, he will go to anyone and doesnt phase him at all
*Will finally get to sleep in a crib(instead of the pack and play) now that we are moving and lyla will be in a big girl bed
*Been sleeping in his own room for about a month or more now
*Is getting so heavy I would rather carry Lyla than carry him when he's in the carseat
*He LOVES animals. When any animal walks by he laughs and smiles

Getting so BIG

Laughing at Louie

He does this little smirky smile that is so cute. Blurry, but this picture kind of shows it
He still loves his sister and she can get him in laughing fits better than anyone else
Trying out his moves, but not quite there yet

6 Years!

Yep, its true, we have made it 6 wonderful years. We celebrated our anniversary this past weekend and enjoyed going out to eat at the Mandarin restaurant. Its a chinese food restaurant that we have heard lots of people talk about and decided to try it out. We did enjoy it but still agree that P.F. Chang's is our favorite. Afterward we decided to walk around a little downtown and let our food settle then topped it off with chocolate fondue for dessert at the Melting Pot. (Didn't get a pic, dang)

Six years, 3 states, almost 5 moves, school, more school, several jobs, and two sweet chillins later we have grown a ton and our love is stronger than ever. We feel so blessed to have each other and are truly enjoying spending our lives together. Here's to another 6 years and more!

This is the Place Park

This past Saturday we went to check out the monument and park called This is the Place. They had a lot of fun activities for kids and Lyla loved it
 Pony Rides

 Petting Zoo
 Cute little baby pig!
Its hard to tell here, but Mac LOVED the animals. He just sat there smiling and laughing at every animal that came close to him, it was adorable
Did a little water relay game
Riding the train, Lyla's favorite part, she kept asking to get back on
 Mining for "gold"
Look at all the gold we found! Whew
After you mine for gold you turn it in at the bank and get candy for the amount of weight in gold
And because it was like 95 degrees out we had to stop and get some ice cream before leaving. We also watched a native american dance at the end and both kids just sat and stared the whole time, they were mesmerized.

Almanor 2012

Yep, TONS of pictures, and I took way more than this, but I wanted to capture the whole trip in this post. Here we go..

Enjoying his plane ride, and smiling the whole way as usual

Lyla hasn't been on a plane for over 6 months, so this was like her first time to her(even though its probably about the 20th) but she was so intrigued with everything going on and loved it
Mac just watchin the clouds roll by. He looks so big standing there with his hand on the window!
The night we got there (Wed) we celebrated gma and gpas 60th Anniversary. The plaque had their names on it and words written all around with memories of them that everyone in the family submitted. It was a great time talking about their memories and honoring their achievement.
It was also pinata night the first night. Both kids got to hit one,
Mac wasn't so sure what was going on
McKay and Calvin hangin on the blanket during pinatas. These two are only a few months apart and it was cute to watch them together
 Lyla's turn!
 Watching pinatas with grandma
We arrived in the afternoon, which meant not a lot of time for swimming since we had naps and dinner to get done. So after naps, dinner and pinatas we strolled by the water. Well, we can't just stroll by, Lyla had to test it out. It was after all, a "really big swimming pool"
She slowly inched in further and further with the help of Uncle Davis. She loved it
Thursday morning we had the traditional Snoopy waffles made by Grandma
Grandpa loved holding McKay. And Mac was checkin grandpa out while I ate breakfast

Lyla couldn't wait to get down to the water.
So early thursday morning her and papa went to get all the beach goodies ready.
Kurt brought this rocket and Lyla loved putting around on it. Her favorite part was the unlimited water gun attached to the front
Mac got to stroll out to the beach that day too and tested out the taste of sand for the first time.
He loved this little floaty and stayed in it for probably an hour just swirling around the lake with various people
He got pooped and needed a bottle, and took a great nap after all the beach play
Thursday night is always adult night. Since several cousins are married now we decided to change it up a bit and had "young" and "old" adult night. So the married cousins went out all together for pizza, and the aunts and uncles went out separately for italian.
Friday we rented a boat for the first half of the day. Here's Lyla getting excited to go on it!
Waving to dad who is wake boarding.
She was giving Uncle Davis the death grip when it got "fast and loud"
No huge tricks, but Josh had fun and got a little sore :)
 Helping papa drive
 Sometimes it got "loud" haha
She was a little nervous at first and held on tight but after a little while we got faster and a few "weeee" came out of her. She then talked about getting to go on a ride in the tube for the next week

Enjoying the sand and water on day 2
Seriously, can he get any happier or cuter?!?!

Beautiful Lake Almanor, see you next year!
We went back to Sac-town on Saturday and it was over 100 degrees. So we took a dip in the pool, it felt so good and was just warm enough to be comfortable but cool enough to feel great
On Sunday evening we got together with all the Roskelley family in CA and had dinner at Grandmas. I forgot my camera so we didn't get any pics, but we had a great time with great food!

Building Lyla's Bed

Well, its time. We are moving in a few weeks and Mac will be using the crib so Lyla needs a bed. We have a trundle bed already but I really am not looking forward to the future battles of keeping Lyla's squirmy little body in a bed she can get out of. So...I tried to get myself excited and looked around online and got inspired to make one, and is 1/3 of the price of buying a new one!

Since I don't have the tools, or skills for that matter, I roped my dad into helping me. I went up to their house with the kids for a few days and while we worked in the garage, grandma watched the kids.

I think it turned out super adorable and really did get me more excited to move Lyla into her own bed. I went back to paint it white, but didn't get a pic, so i'll have to wait until we move it into the new house.
(Big thanks to papa who really did most of the work, but I was really good at encouraging him as he went, haha)
