Thanksgiving

This year for thanksgiving the Green's came to us, and we hosted the big event. Since there were 12 of us and our apartment fits about 4, we invaded Aunt Cindy's house and had it there.
(Cindy went off to CA with my parents.)

Josh tried a new recipe and brined the turkey the night before. Here he is the day of, in all his cooking glory, checking on the beast. It turned out very moist and yummy!

Marty, Prudy, Michelle, and Jodi joined us this year. Here is half the crew ready to dig in
And the other half
I got into my craft mode and made these place cards for everyone. They took forever for what seemed like a 20 minute meal, but I think they turned out cute anyway for being on a budget!
Waiting for the turkey to be done, just chit chatting
After dinner we played a few games
On Friday all the kids went bowling, Davis won, but I was a close second :)
We had a great holiday and enjoyed the yummy food!

Visit to CO

Since Josh went off to India for 8 days me and the monkey didn't want to get too lonely and flew off to CO for the week. Here are some highlights of the trip:

It snowed the day we got there. Dad got the snowblower last season but i didn't get a chance to try it out so at 7 months prego I handled that beast like a pro

Lyla went sledding last year a few times but really didn't get the full snow experience until this year. This is her first snow and didnt much like walking around with all the gear on

Gpa taught her how to throw snowballs
Trying to make Louie wear necklaces

Got spoiled by Gpa of course, getting a bite of ice cream

Gave Louie about 100 loves a day, he tolerated it since she in return gave him 100 treats

The snow melted so it was time to rake leaves that didnt have a chance to fall before since the snow came so early this year
Running through the pile, she loved it

I think she enjoyed the leaves much more than the snow,
but i'll be working on that this winter..
Trip to the park

It was a great trip and so nice to be at my parents house instead of at home by ourselves. We sure did miss Josh though and were so happy to pick him up a few days after we got back!

India

Josh went off to India the day after being sworn in. He went to train people there for his job. Overall the trip went well and he enjoyed being there. The time difference
was 12 hours though, so the jet lag was pretty bad.

Here is Josh eating dinner with his boss Guilliame on the left, and then a co-worker
Rakhee and her husband

One of Josh's comments about India was that the traffic was super crazy all the time. People just drive wherever they want and are constantly honking to let other cars know where they are!

They had wild monkeys there. Although he didn't see many, the locals said they are everywhere

Just a view of one of the city streets in New Delhi
(notice the random tractor puttin down the road)

Josh got to visit the Taj Mahal while he was there. This prayer tower was next to it where they make prayer calls several times a day

The Taj Majal
This is the entrance to the main courtyard where the Taj Majal is

There were lots of these funny little 3-wheel carts everywhere. There were like 12 guys piled in this cart and hanging off the back and sides, haha

Josh Gets Sworn In

It's officially official, Josh is a lawyer and can now practice law in Utah. He got sworn in on Halloween and was a special event.

He is in the very front so you can't see him here, but he is raising his right hand and getting sworn in. I got a little teary just thinking about how proud I am of Josh and all the hard work that he has done to get to this point. I am a lucky woman to be married to such a wonderful man
Holding up his award signed by the judge

Josh's parents came into town for the weekend to share in this special occasion

Andy also was sworn in. It is fun to see these two friends get through law school together and get to celebrate being official lawyers at the end!
We went out to lunch afterwards with Josh's parents and all of Andy's family to celebrate.

Halloween

Halloween weekend was filled with busy events! Halloween wasn't until Monday, but we started the weekend off on Friday with trunk or treat
I took advantage of the big belly and went as a basketball hoop and Josh was the bball player

Our little dorothy (with the dress and hair bows that I made) was so adorable and caught on very quickly to gathering candy and putting it in her basket!

Saturday we went up to Ogden and went to the Day's party. Lyla had fun running around with Brookie and Kaylee while we munched on some yummy food and caught up with Jen and Andy. They dressed up as Princess Kate and Prince William since their wedding was a big media event this year.

On Halloween night, Monday, we went out to Eagle Mountain and went trick or treating with the Nelson's. They have a cute little neighborhood that is so family friendly with tons of kids around and was the perfect place for Lyla's first true Halloween experience. We had a great time and enjoyed dinner afterwards.
Lyla loved it and wouldn't let go of her basket even when it got heavy. She was NOT letting that candy get out of her sight!
I think I was too involved in how cute Lyla looked and my camera battery died after a few minutes of being there, but I didnt even get a picture of Korbin and Quinn! They were dressed up as Transformers though and also looked great.
