Summer Fun

I turned 25! Went to Maggiano's for dinner, it was SOO good

It is an adorable restaurant inside and out

The restaurant brings out some amazing lemon cookies for my bday

Got a "nothing bundt cake" which is super yummy, i got choc with cream cheese frosting

I got a sewing organizer from the rents, a passport!, and some amazing pictures of Lyla and frames put together by Josh and bf Jenn

More Swimming, Lyla loves it more every time!

Free Concerts in the park, its every week and we have gone about 4 times now! So relaxing and fun to lay on the grass on a summer evening and listening to music

Lyla loves to touch the grass and hang with the fam. New hat made by mommy :) I just can't resist making things for her, its so fun!

Rodeo in the Ranch!

It was about 95 degrees and nap time so Ly stayed at home with gma

Great summer so far! Looking forward to more memories to come before school starts up again next month.

Baseball & July 4th Weekend

Josh LOVES the Red Sox and they just so happened to come play the Rockies this summer so of course we had to go.

Lyla gave dad a baseball outfit for fathers day, here she is sporting the "daddy's home run hero" outfit

She did great at the game even though it was 90 degrees and past her bedtime!

Grandma is a Rockies fan but still agreed to hold the Red Sox fan, for a little while

4th of July downtown Denver- Symphony in the Park and then fireworks shooting off the county building with a light show on the building

Lyla and dad matching for church on the 4th. I made the onesie and shoes and added on a strip of matching fabric on the skirt, it was fun to be festive for church

July 5th everyone had off work so we went to Estes Park for the day and walked around Bear Lake. Here is Josh scaling the wall...with flip flops, he was super high.

The fam at Bear Lake

Me and Ly looking out at the lake together. The front pack brought back prego memories with being off balance and lots of weight in the front!

Beautiful Lake! The weather was perfect and Lyla loved being outside. It was a great day together as a family since we dont get those very often

Fathers Day Weekend

Wally and the fam came up for fathers day and we have had a great weekend.

All the kids around the best dad ever!

Lyla is getting her first hair cut! She has no hair but super random old man long hairs that Lindsey trimmed up for her :)

I made a little sun hat for Lyla

We went to the lake and had a picnic.

The Move

We recently moved to Colorado for an internship that Josh got at the department of securities downtown Denver. It just so happens my parents live 20 minutes from Denver so we moved in last week and have been taking over the house with all of our stuff!

We flew while dad drove our stuff over. Lyla did great on her first flight! Here she is holding on ready for take-off :)

A big thank you to Josh's dad for helping us move all of our stuff over! I know Josh really appreciated having a driving buddy on the long 18 hour drive.

Louie is having a hard time adjusting to the new "baby" in the house, he isn't getting all of the attention he used to!

Hangin with grandpa, (i love the crossed legs). He even got to change a poopy diaper the other day, Lucky!!

Dad and Lyla looking out the front window, we are loving living in a real house with no annoying neighbors and having A/C is the best!

Mother's Day

It was a great first mothers day! I woke up to Lyla handing me my favorite thing in the world- See's candy. They were even all individually picked out to make sure I loved every piece, and I did, it was gone by the end of the day, haha.

Here she is all ready for church (done by daddy) holding the candy

Out on the grass by our apartment, had to take a "first mothers day" pic

That same day she made a "milestone" and grabbed her toy several times, and actually on purpose, not just by accident! I thought she looked so cute with her little tongue out concentrating so hard to grab on. Such a little thing but I was so proud of her :)

Being a mother is the best thing in the world. I know, everyone says that, but it really is. I wake up every morning smiling knowing I get to spend the day with such a sweet little girl who I love so much. Don't get me wrong, every day isn't just a bundle of happiness and and ease, but all the hard work is definitely worth it. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and daughter. Thank you Josh (and Lyla) for making my first mothers day so special :)

And also, of course, a big thank you to my wonderful mother for raising me with such love and care, being such a great example of how to raise my own daughter. Mothers day definitely has a different tone to it now that I know how truly strong a mothers love is for her children.

Shoes & A Cutie

I can't find any shoes to fit Lyla's long and super skinny feet so I decided to make some of my own! I got this cute pattern from a friend at work before I left and finally got around to making them and I love them.
I just might get addicted to making lots of them since they are so easy and you can make them super cheap and whatever patterns/colors you want!

Just decided to add this adorable picture of my 2 loves

Go Bulldogs!

First things first:

Lyla in her sunday outfit. She really doesn't look much like this picture at all but i can't stop laughing at how cute her face looks so i just had to post it.

This Friday we went to the Gonzaga Bulldogs baseball game with the Harris' and Gwilliams and had a lot of fun. It was perfect weather, one of the warmest this year. It was a slow game so we left about the 7th ending and the score was 7-1 Zags, i'm pretty sure they ended up winning.
Lyla sportin her GU gear
You can tell Lyla was really into the game

Aaron Gwilliam and his adorable twin 4-yr olds Cade & Connor

9:30pm-6am

That's right people, Lyla slept her first full night, from 9:30-6. Yes, you read that right, she is not even two months yet and SHE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!! Only those who have seen Lyla's sleep schedule, especially during the day, can realize how amazing this truly is. We went from last week of eating at 9:30pm, 1am, 4am, 6am and then up after that and slowly we have eliminated the two middle feedings and it has been amazing. I attribute it all to the Baby Whisperer (a book by Tracy Hogg) which helped me get her taking naps during the day to longer than 15-20 minutes at a time to usually an hour to 2 at a time and to get her sleeping through the night. It felt so nice to get up and see that clock show 6am instead of 1am or 3am. Whew! I LOVE my sleep, so this is going to be a nice change around here :)

AND A BIG THANK YOU TO MARISSA GWILLIAM FOR TELLING ME TO READ THE BABY WHISPERER, I OWE HER A BIG ONE!
