NEED A JOB

Today I found out my hours are being cut in half, which means I can't live off of what they are going to pay me. I've always found that getting jobs through knowing people is the best way.

SO...if you know of anyone who is HIRING in Spokane please let me know asap! I only have 2 weeks before it starts so I need to be quick about it. One that includes health insurance for this baby would be nice. Thanks everyone

Baby Suggestions?!

I'm sure most newly pregnant women might think this, but I'm already starting to get overwhelmed with everything that babies need! I'm sure I'll get some things from baby showers, but I still would like to get advice from the many mothers out there who have already done this.

SO...please let me know what has or hasn't worked for you for things like:

Cribs?
Bobby Pillow? (is it really that helpful?)
Stroller?
Car Seat?
High Chair?
Swings or bouncy chair?

Any cute websites or blogs on how to make baby bumpers, blankets, curtains etc?

I've heard there are discount websites for diapers, but not sure what they are?

Any books I should read before the baby comes? I know I won't have much energy or time to read them after, so any books that help with getting babies to sleep or good ideas in general?

That should cover most of the things I lay at night thinking about so far. Any other suggestions or advice for pregnancy and/or baby stuff would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone :) (oh, and any cute stores for maternity clothes??)

Baby Green Coming Your Way

It's official, I'm pregnant. Yes we planned it, and of course we are excited. I am thirteen weeks tomorrow and the due date is February 10th. It has been an interesting beginning with of course being nauseous constantly, but only throwing up every once in awhile. Today I went to my second appointment and got an ultrasound. It was so much fun to actually see the baby and the sickness didn't seem so bad anymore since I got to hear and see the cause of it all. It also made it seem real, Josh and I can't stop telling each other "we're really going to have a baby"

Of course the famous pee test. Why this is necessary, I don't know, but it shows that its official I suppose.

Here is that cute baby of ours. Of course it looks more like an alien I'm sure if you saw it for real, but it looks cute enough for now. I like the little foot sticking up on the left hand side.

Family Reunion at Lake Almanor

Every year we get to go to the family reunion in CA with the Green family. Its a relaxing week laying out on the beach and playing in the water. We were only able to go for a few days because of Josh's school schedule, but it was so worth it.

COLDPLAY

Josh and I got to go to Coldplay last weekend! It was so much fun. It was at a beautiful outdoor venue called The Gorge, in George, Washington. Thanks to dad who helped us fulfill Josh's dream of seeing them live, we had a great time and loved it.

Here is the sun setting before it started, on the left of the stage there is water from the gorge. There was a boat out there shooting fireworks later in the night.

It was an awesome place to see a concert and fun to be outside. This is a good picture of the gorge. This amphitheater is in the middle of nowhere with just farms and nothing all around it.

I wanted to show how many people were there, this is everyone in front of us.

This is part of everyone behind and to the side of us. There were still a ton on the other side of me too. I'm guessing there was around 30,000 people there, comparing it to to some of the Rockies games i've been to with similar amounts of people.

Here we are waiting for the concert. It was a mere 96 degrees and we were there at 4:30pm to get a good seat. Coldplay didn't actually come out onto the stage until 9pm. Good thing I had my umbrella, it was very hot, but worth the wait and hot weather, it was awesome!

A little taste of Coldplay for you. They had huge yellow balls filled with confetti for the Yellow song, and tons of butterfly confetti was shot out all during the Lovers in Japan song. He also sang Billy Jean for a little tribute to Michael Jackson. During this song he was on a platform out in the crowd about 100 feet from us! Josh also got a coldplay shirt which he has wore about 3 times already this week.

Happy Birthday to Me

Last wednesday I turned the big 24. After work Josh let me pick any restaurant and I have been craving the breadsticks and salad from Olive Garden so we went there for dinner.

Afterwards he needed to "pick up a book from the Harris" and it just so happened to also be a little party there. We talked, ate cake, and played Rock Band, which was tons of fun, I had never played before.

Daren and Heather even made me a "ball" cake, my favorite kind since I was little.

Colorado for the 4th

Our third year in a row Josh and I went to CO for the 4th of July. We had a blast as usual. And Derek got to visit this time too since he was in UT and decided to drive down to see Josh and his amazing sister in law.

Here we are waiting for the Highlands Ranch fireworks show to start. About 5 minutes later the sprinklers came on and we quickly moved to a new spot across the street.

Since my birthday is the next week my mom always makes a cake for me. She made me put the confetti on my head from the firework poppers she gave me.

We also went golfing at Evergreen golf course. I was the official cart driver, and had lots of fun making mom bounce all over as we went on every bump possible.

Hoopfest and Strawberries

So I have been slow to update, but two weekends ago we went to pick strawberries at Green Bluff, which is a place that has several u-pick farms about 15 minutes away. I had never picked them before, so it was fun, but also delicious. They are very sweet and way better than store bought ones, of course.

Afterwards we made strawberry crepes at the Harris' and caught up on life since the Barneys just got back from their month visit to Brazil.

On Saturday we went to Hoopfest in downtown Spokane. I guess its the biggest 3 on 3 tournament in the country. They block off all the roads downtown for blocks and just have back to back basketball hoops lining the streets. We mostly stayed on the street with the elite teams to see some good games.

This was by far the most entertaining game. These guys were hilarious and would do crazy dances and flips after a basket. They also would do the "soccer-tunnel" and have the guy run under who made the basket. My favorite part is that they all had fake mustaches and what looked like Keds tennis shoes. Ha.

Tired of Being Sick!

An IV, two bags of fluid, 3 hour doctors visit, and barfing out of control and complete dehydration later, my weekend has come to a close. Of course it had to be a three day weekend that was filled with projects and things to do, but not one of them got done.

I was just celebrating not having a migraine for almost two whole weeks when at the end of the second week, no, i didn't get a migraine but only some weird sickness that made me miserable for 3.5 days. The only thing that ticks me off is that I used to NEVER get sick and was super healthy and in the last couple of years I have been the sickest person I know, lame. I'm getting really tired of being sick about once a week. Anyone want to take me to Hawaii? I'm in serious need of a vacation.
