Lyla Turns 2

There was lots of family in town for Mac's baby blessing and it was also Lyla's birthday so we celebrated a few days before

Since dad's birthday is just a few days after I couldn't help but make him this
cool golf cake that I found online, and of course a little princess cake for Lyla

She had a great bday party with lots of cake, presents, playing, and love from all her family. What a lucky little 2 year old :)

We sure love this little spunky girl. She has all the qualities of a 2 year old, both good and not so good, but we have a lot of fun with her and watching her personality really come out. I can't believe how fast the 2 years have gone, and how big she looks, especially with the new little peanut around.

Her stats at her 2 year appt today:
22.8 pounds (5th percentile)
35 inches long (80th percentile)

She is long and skinny, which she always has been and I expect she will stay that way. Some cute things she does these days:

*When she can't get something open she scrunches up her face and grunts
*She will squint her eyes and tilt her head and babble something in her high little voice that sounds like "what'd you say, you talkin to me?!"
*Loves loves to dance anywhere and everywhere. Even in the car she'll say "mom, mom, dance" and that means turn on the radio so she can dance, and gets upset if i dont dance with her
*Itsy Bitsy spider is her favorite song, and loves to shout WASH when it gets to that part
*Is a little homemaker- loves her kitchen and pretending to cook/eat, dress-ups, sweeping, taking care of her baby-pretty much any type of role play is her favorite
*Is very observant and is always watching others
*Wants to be a helper, no matter what it is
*Says um.... then makes a little smack sound at the end when she is thinking about something
*Can't get enough of her papa Roskelley, she immediately gets goofy and in the happiest mood when he is around and would play with him all day long every day if it was up to her
*Has to sniff all flowers she sees, whether they are real or even the fake ones at Michaels
*Is such a girly girl. When she has pretty shoes on, gets her hair done, has a dress on, or her fingernails painted she gets a little smile on her face and has to show it off to everyone around
*Loves to look at books and "reads" them to herself
