Shoes & A Cutie

I can't find any shoes to fit Lyla's long and super skinny feet so I decided to make some of my own! I got this cute pattern from a friend at work before I left and finally got around to making them and I love them.
I just might get addicted to making lots of them since they are so easy and you can make them super cheap and whatever patterns/colors you want!

Just decided to add this adorable picture of my 2 loves

Go Bulldogs!

First things first:

Lyla in her sunday outfit. She really doesn't look much like this picture at all but i can't stop laughing at how cute her face looks so i just had to post it.

This Friday we went to the Gonzaga Bulldogs baseball game with the Harris' and Gwilliams and had a lot of fun. It was perfect weather, one of the warmest this year. It was a slow game so we left about the 7th ending and the score was 7-1 Zags, i'm pretty sure they ended up winning.

You can tell Lyla was really into the game

9:30pm-6am

That's right people, Lyla slept her first full night, from 9:30-6. Yes, you read that right, she is not even two months yet and SHE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!!! Only those who have seen Lyla's sleep schedule, especially during the day, can realize how amazing this truly is. We went from last week of eating at 9:30pm, 1am, 4am, 6am and then up after that and slowly we have eliminated the two middle feedings and it has been amazing. I attribute it all to the Baby Whisperer (a book by Tracy Hogg) which helped me get her taking naps during the day to longer than 15-20 minutes at a time to usually an hour to 2 at a time and to get her sleeping through the night. It felt so nice to get up and see that clock show 6am instead of 1am or 3am. Whew! I LOVE my sleep, so this is going to be a nice change around here :)

AND A BIG THANK YOU TO MARISSA GWILLIAM FOR TELLING ME TO READ THE BABY WHISPERER, I OWE HER A BIG ONE!

First Play Date for Lyla

Yesterday we went on a walk to the park with Heather, Brittney, Summer and Claire. It was the first real nice day in Spokane and it was so sunny and warm, I loved it! We met at Brittneys and then strolled on over to Friendship Park just a few minutes away.

Lyla slept most of the time, but when she woke up we sat on the swings for a minute and enjoyed the sun!

Brittney and Claire just hangin while Summer played

Summer LOVED the park. It was one of the first times she has got to play at the park since it has been cold and last year she was too little. It was so much fun to watch her explore and get so excited about the swings and slides. I can't wait until Lyla can run around at the park too!

We decided to visit Josh at work afterward. Here she is with the attorney there, Anastasia. She is really checkin out the lawyer paperwork, she just might take after her dad :)

New Baby in Town

Our friends Jenn and Andy Day welcomed their sweet baby girl McKaylie Wednesday morning and we got to go visit them in the hospital that evening.

She has lots of hair!

The cute new family of 4
(Brooklyn, their 1.5 year old was at a friends house while we were there)

McKaylie was 8lbs 7oz, one ounce bigger than Lyla (at least according to her weigh in from last week) so it was funny to see the two together weighing the same but 6.5 weeks apart!

Happy Easter

Today was both general conference and Easter. We woke up and Josh had hid some eggs around the house so I looked for eggs and then we watched the first half of conference. In between sessions we had some friends come over for a brunch and to watch the second half with us.

Dad and Lyla watchin conference together

After eating we had a little easter egg hunt in the back of our apartment with the kids. They loved picking up all the eggs and we were happy they got the concept since all three of them are just over a year and a half years old. This is Gracie Howard and Summer Barney

Here is Summer Barney and Brooklyn Day

She didn't like it very much, but I thought it was too cute that she could almost fit inside the basket

Lyla's First Roadie

Last weekend we went to Portland, OR for Josh's cousin Karli's wedding. It is about a 6 hour drive from Spokane and Lyla did amazing! We were worried since she usually hates the car just doing the short errand trips around town, but the lull of the car on the freeway got the best of her and she slept almost the whole way there and back!

Just waking up to eat after about 3 hours!

Waiting for the couple to come out of the temple. Portland had beautiful weather that day and spring was everywhere there, we loved it.

Josh and I both wanted to go into the sealing so here is Lyla's first babysitters, cousins Becca and Marissa, who watched her out in the foyer for us

The morning of the wedding we went out to breakfast, Lyla's first restaurant experience.

Lyla's Blessing Day!

Lyla was blessed in church yesterday and she looked beautiful! Josh did a great job, and she was awake during the blessing, but very content just looking around at all the men holding her. We had lots of family there and feel very blessed to have such a wonderful supportive family.
Here she is in her dress, which was bought by Grandma R

Our new little family of three!

This is all the men that were in the circle.
Uncle Todd, Rhett, Daren, Grandpa, Dad, Great Grandpa, Ty, Davis, Derek

Align CenterHere is all of the family that came! Since we don't have any family in town all of them had to travel to be there. A big thank you to everyone for making the sacrifice to be with us on Lyla's important day.

This is my cousin Lydia just beaming as Lyla gave her huge smiles! She has been smiling more and more this week and we are loving it.

Our first 2 weeks

Our first two weeks have been rough, but also filled with fun and lots of kisses and smiles as we enjoy our new little sweetie. Here are some things we have been up to, besides eating, pooping, crying and sleeping.

The first bath-
It was a sponge bath since she was only a few days old and she screamed the entire time, it was just too cold for her, and not fun at all. But doesn't she look so scrawny and cute with her daddy?!

Exactly one week after she was born her umbilical cord fell off and we promptly gave her a real bath. She was much happier with this since she got to be in the warm water.

We did lots of talking and smiling-
Here's grandpa giving her some advice on how to be a spoiled princess in order to pay me back
First Outside Experience-
We went outside on a sunny day, she didn't like being in the front pack, but she sure looked cute in it, especially since I made Josh carry her :)
Doctor Visit-
Her second doctor visit was not fun. She got her heel poked and squeezed to get the blood sample and she screamed for about 10 minutes straight and harder than I ever saw her scream before! Afterwards she fell asleep in my arms on the way to the car in about 30 seconds

Stroller Ride-
I started feeling better recovery-wise so we took a short walk with Gma Green

Our favorite face-
It looks like more of an 'O' in real life, but this is her Zoolander "Blue Steele" look

LOVES her daddy-
She has acid reflux and is upset quite frequently, but Josh can calm her down right away every time. She already has him wrapped around her finger
Pooped-
Loves to sleep in the Boppy

And just for cuteness, take a look at those sweet little baby feet
