Sunday Ride

Josh and I went on a bike ride on a popular trail in downtown Spokane called the Centennial Trail. It runs right along the river and was a beautiful trail. We had a great time checking it out and trying to squeeze in some exercise on Josh's day off from studying.

Last night we got together with our friends and made "haunted houses" out of graham crackers and candy. It was a competition and we all need your help to find out the true winner!! So look at all three houses and vote which you like best on the side.

Aprons?!

So I have this grand idea to make and sell aprons. Not sure if it's going to just be on-line or at a kiosk in the mall etc etc or if I will actually ever do it, but I just got inspired and very motivated to do it. No, I have never ran a business or know anything about it, and I have also never sewn an apron. BUT....tomorrow I am sewing one, and today was talk about what I would name it. Vote on the side for what you think the name should be. This might sound crazy, but if I really do it the aprons will be SUPER cute and fun to own. SO...here I go on an adventure :) Also, if you have any other ideas on a business name, leave a comment!

Wii-fun!!

We had several law-school couples come over on Saturday after our ward party to have a Wii Bowling Championship, boys vs girls. All I have to say: girls whooped 'em!

First game: Normal bowling, Second game: Left-handed only, Third game: Between the legs

So it starts out sideways, sorry, not sure how to fix that since that's how I held the camera for who knows why, but here is Rhett's "between the legs" strategy. And yes, the credits are longer than the actual movie. So I'm not a movie-edit specialist, give me a break!

Spokane Fair Demo Derby

Josh and I went this last week with the Harris' to the Spokane Fair. We watched some of a hypnotist show and then headed off to the demo derby. None of us had been to one before and we had a blast! There weren't as many trashy people at the derby as I had hoped, but a 16 year old did win the whole thing!

After the derby we checked out the fair rides which were bigger and better than any traveling rides I've ever seen! One was like the Superman ride where you lay down on your stomach. I was very tempted to try it out until I found out of course it cost an arm and a leg to go on it. So since it took your arm AND leg, I figured it wouldn't be that fun anyway.

One of my fav parts about the derby is that by the end all of the cars were smoking a ton and made it that much more exciting.

The pinky in the middle was the car I voted for and was a crowd favorite for driving backwards during the race before the derby, but it ended up that #100 won, the car Heather voted for

NEW JOB, yes, again

Ok, so I worked 3 days at the newspaper and then quit because the school called me to work there instead. I felt really bad just bailing on them like that, even after those nice flowers which are still alive and beautiful! But all I could think in my mind is having to drive through downtown and on the freeway during the winter months and I was convinced that the 3 mile drive just across the way was going to work out much better. Today was my official first day and well....lets just say I'm not THAT excited about tending 1-2 year olds which means wiping snot, holding the criers, and reading the same book over and over again because they insist. Maybe since I just walked in the door it isn't a great time to blog about the job, but I did like the drive much better and the lady I work with is nice. :) So anyway....here I go on an adventure. I think I'll just have my own babies and quit this whole career world stuff, haha. No, but really.

Wow...

So today was my first day of working at the Spokesman Review. I walk in and watch a few boring training videos for about an hour and I'm thinking "greaaat, this is going to be one long day" Then the day really started by meeting this flamboyant funny 30-year old who will be training me and the first thing he says is "hey!! how are you? I'm brad, here's some flowers." And I mean really, who doesn't want to be pleasantly greeted on the first day of work with a bouquet of flowers?!?! So I stare at him with probably one eyebrow up wondering why in the world he's so dang happy, and why he just said the flowers were for me. Then I said "what? what do you mean?" and so he repeats himself, "the flowers are yours" So...I half laughed and asked if he was kidding and proceeded to look at the card and sure enough, they were from my new managers. I was so surprised. As most of you know, I despised my last job and did not like much about it, and wasn't appreciated to the least degree. I worked there for four years (longer than probably 75% of the people there) and on the day I left just about no one cared except the couple of good friends I had that were still there. I'm not sure how the job will pan out, but all I can say is that I had a great first day and am extremely satisfied compared to the last one!! Yay for the Spokesman Review :)

Bread Winner

So I guess it's official, I have a job! I am about to go take my drug test downtown (crossing my fingers that I'll pass..) and as soon as my background check clears I will be starting. I will be working for the Spokesman Review Newspaper. So if any of you would like to place an ad in the paper, I'm your new friend! I am still waiting on a call back from a school that I want to work at, so if they call, well then I will no longer be with the paper, but working in a preschool. I just would rather work with kids, and its 3 miles from my house instead of 30. So here we go, hopefully some day I will actually be getting a paycheck again! The Green-house Bread Winner, here I come!! :)
