Harris' Visit

Tuesday and Wednesday we got the awesome opportunity to meet up with the Harris' who now live in Portland but were in UT for a reunion. We had the Days come down and went up Millcreek Canyon to yet again have a picnic and roast mallows because we had so much fun doing it with my family in the canyon last weekend!

Lyla LOVED having Auntie Heather visit, they have always been good buds

The Harris' slept over at our place Tuesday night so we got on Skype and talked to the Barney's to check up on how they were doing. It was a little mini reunion and we loved it. On Wednesday we woke up and had a delicious breakfast together, later that afternoon we went up to Boondocks and played mini golf and some arcade games.

A mean game of skeeball. Heather might have beat me about 4 times...

Labor Day Weekend

Friday and the first half of Saturday were spent in salt lake celebrating, but then we head down to see Wally's fam and hang out with my parents.

We went up AF canyon and had a picnic and roasted mallows. It was a great time just hanging out in the awesome canyon and enjoyed watching the kids explore the forest

Lyla and Crew love to watch each other and do what the other is doing. They threw rocks together for quite awhile

I LOVE living closer to Wally's family now and getting the cousins together. They all enjoy being around each other and is so much fun getting to see them more often!

Sunday we got together and had a BBQ at Wally's. Monday my Mom, Aunt Cindy and I went maternity clothes shopping and the boys met up with us after for lunch. It was a short and fast weekend, but good to see the rents as usual and bid them farewell monday afternoon hoping to see them again soon.

Celebrating Our Anniversary

For labor day weekend my parents came into town and offered to watch Lyla for a night. So we took advantage of it being just a few weeks after our anniversary and went out on the town.

We ate dinner at The Roof which is an amazing buffet at the top of the
JS Building on temple square

This is the view we had, right from our table! The temple was so amazing and romantic, perfect for an anniversary celebration, Best part of the meal besides the view and company was the food, ok, so really I mean the dessert, there were TWENTY to choose from, I tried about 10 and vowed to come back and try the other ten next year!

After dinner we escaped off to the Anniversary Inn which has themed rooms, ours was The Phantom of the Opera. It was more fun than just a traditional hotel room and we got breakfast in bed brought to us the next morning.

After sleeping in and eating our breakfast we headed off to Park City to go down the alpine slide

We finished off our day by going to Wally's house to meet up with the munchkin and the rest of the fam (see next post)

Aquarium

We decided to take advantage of all the time dad has now that the bar and everything is over and do some things we have wanted to do around salt lake. One of those was to go to the aquarium in Sandy.

Each tank had a perfect little step for Lyla to step on and she loved being independent and getting to get up by herself and look at the fish.

She got up to look at these fish and turned around to show off her fishy lips. It was so cute to see her connect the face with looking at the fish without us even showing her first!

I think this winter we will have to come back more often, for now we want to soak up the sun while its still around!

5th Anniversary

Josh and I celebrated our 5th Anniversary this August 17th. It was a great day, mostly just relaxed. We got a babysitter and went to Olive Garden for dinner and then to the movies. It was a simple date since we have a big weekend planned coming up on labor day weekend.

Josh got me roses and picked out my favorite See's candy. Since the 5th year is wood I got him a bonsai, our "love tree", haha, and a cool wooden box that has a picture of us on our wedding day in it with a little note and some fun love coupons

It has been a fast 5 years and I can't believe we almost have 2 little munchkins! We are two lucky ducks and and are excited to celebrate the past five years and look forward to 50 more :)

Camping

This past weekend we went camping up the alpine loop with the Nelson's. It was a great time, and a lot different than last time we camped together before we moved to WA, there were NO kids then, and 3 this time!

We went up to bridal veil falls on sat to throw rocks and cool off

Amazing game of Shuffle Board. Josh & I won every game :) I think its my amazing form

Lyla got to hit the pinata this year! She liked it until it started swinging back at her

First boat ride. The only time she didnt like it is when dad was wakeboarding. She couldn't figure out why he kept disappearing into the water and why he wouldn't come sit by her
Playing a soccer game, Lyla wanted to try

Another great year at Almanor! We had to come back a little early this year on Wed so Josh can take the MPRE on Friday...dangit. Lyla loved every minute of it. Since Jared didn't come she was the only baby there, the next up was Holland who is 6, so Lyla got LOTS of love and attention!
