Happy Easter

Today was both general conference and Easter. We woke up and Josh had hid some eggs around the house so I looked for eggs and then we watched the first half of conference. In between sessions we had some friends come over for a brunch and to watch the second half with us.

Dad and Lyla watchin conference together

After eating we had a little easter egg hunt in the back of our apartment with the kids. They loved picking up all the eggs and we were happy they got the concept since all three of them are just over a year and a half years old. This is Gracie Howard and Summer Barney

Here is Summer Barney and Brooklyn Day

She didn't like it very much, but I thought it was too cute that she could almost fit inside the basket

Lyla's First Roadie

Last weekend we went to Portland, OR for Josh's cousin Karli's wedding. It is about a 6 hour drive from Spokane and Lyla did amazing! We were worried since she usually hates the car just doing the short errand trips around town, but the lull of the car on the freeway got the best of her and she slept almost the whole way there and back!

Just waking up to eat after about 3 hours!

Waiting for the couple to come out of the temple. Portland had beautiful weather that day and spring was everywhere there, we loved it.

Josh and I both wanted to go into the sealing so here is Lyla's first babysitters, cousins Becca and Marissa, who watched her out in the foyer for us

The morning of the wedding we went out to breakfast, Lyla's first restaurant experience.

Lyla's Blessing Day!

Lyla was blessed in church yesterday and she looked beautiful! Josh did a great job, and she was awake during the blessing, but very content just looking around at all the men holding her. We had lots of family there and feel very blessed to have such a wonderful supportive family.
Here she is in her dress, which was bought by Grandma R

Our new little family of three!

This is all the men that were in the circle.
Uncle Todd, Rhett, Daren, Grandpa, Dad, Great Grandpa, Ty, Davis, Derek

Align CenterHere is all of the family that came! Since we don't have any family in town all of them had to travel to be there. A big thank you to everyone for making the sacrifice to be with us on Lyla's important day.

This is my cousin Lydia just beaming as Lyla gave her huge smiles! She has been smiling more and more this week and we are loving it.

And proud first-time Uncle Derek

Our first 2 weeks

Our first two weeks have been rough, but also filled with fun and lots of kisses and smiles as we enjoy our new little sweetie. Here are some things we have been up to, besides eating, pooping, crying and sleeping.

The first bath-
It was a sponge bath since she was only a few days old and she screamed the entire time, it was just too cold for her, and not fun at all. But doesn't she look so scrawny and cute with her daddy?!

Exactly one week after she was born her umbilical cord fell off and we promptly gave her a real bath. She was much happier with this since she got to be in the warm water.

We did lots of talking and smiling-
Here's grandpa giving her some advice on how to be a spoiled princess in order to pay me back
First Outside Experience-
We went outside on a sunny day, she didn't like being in the front pack, but she sure looked cute in it, especially since I made Josh carry her :)
Doctor Visit-
Her second doctor visit was not fun. She got her heel poked and squeezed to get the blood sample and she screamed for about 10 minutes straight and harder than I ever saw her scream before! Afterwards she fell asleep in my arms on the way to the car in about 30 seconds

Stroller Ride-
I started feeling better recovery-wise so we took a short walk with Gma Green

Our favorite face-
It looks like more of an 'O' in real life, but this is her Zoolander "Blue Steele" look

LOVES her daddy-
She has acid reflux and is upset quite frequently, but Josh can calm her down right away every time. She already has him wrapped around her finger
Pooped-
Loves to sleep in the Boppy

And just for cuteness, take a look at those sweet little baby feet

More Lyla

Here's Lyla jammin out to Thriller. It's hard to hear the music over my laughing, but I couldn't help it, she looks so cute!

Lyla sure is loved by her grandparents! She is the first on the Green side and the second on the Roskelley side. She is so blessed to have such a loving and supportive family.

Baby Lyla

So I always vowed to never let my blog just become a massive out pour of baby pictures and nothing else, but really, who was I kidding?? Especially it being the first week home from the hospital she pretty much consumes our lives. Here are some pics from her first days of life :)

Here she is flashing some gang signs, ha

Getting ready for her first bath

Washing her hair. She looks calm here, but she really hated being wet and cold!

Dad turned 60 on Monday so we had a birthday party for him and Lyla. Lyla didn't get any cake though, dangit. Happy Birthday Dad!

I gave dad this lotion applicator thing for his back, he's showing it off

On our way home, she just looks so tiny in that big seat!

The story: I woke up friday morning with no signs of going into labor. I watched some tv and went about my morning when I went to the bathroom and had some spotting so i called the doc and she told me to go to the labor and delivery to get it checked out. I hadn't had any contractions that morning so left the house at about 10am, with nothing but my purse, and I was on my way to the hospital when some contractions started. Josh was at school and had just barely finished a midterm and I picked him up to come with me. By the time we arrived to the hospital I was really starting to feel stronger contractions that I ever had before, and the nurse checked me out and we waited for about an hour and she confirmed that I was in labor and would not be leaving the hospital. They moved me into the delivery room and was in labor for a few hours and was getting stronger so was offered the epidural at about 4:30. In the next hour I went from a 5 to a 10 and then pushed for the last half hour or so and she arrived at 6:11pm. So I was only in labor about 8 hours and pushed for about 30 minutes, I was so happy with that as a first time labor! The next morning, Saturday Josh was off doing his busy life already and had two interviews for summer internships. That is why he is all dressed up in some of the pics :) We got released at 2pm and have been trying to get our schedule down, but she is a great baby and we are loving having this sweet little girl in our lives!

Valentine's Day

Lyla,

You were supposed to come yesterday, but decided you like being in the belly instead, so your dad and I celebrated Valentine's Day (eve) different than expected. We decided to eat at a new chinese restaurant we hadn't been to before, and went to see a movie called 'Valentine's Day'. It was a cute romantic comedy and I'm pretty sure every person we passed at the theater looked at my huge belly. We are getting impatient, please come soon!

Here we are at the movies with my new favorite coat that hopefully I can actually button in the near future!

I woke up for church with the smell of delicious heart-shaped pancakes, my favorite breakfast food. Thanks Josh :)

Due Date!

Today she is due, but still not here! I had a few braxton hicks for the first time yesterday, but none today yet. We are still deciding, should it be Lyla Mae, or Lyle Renae?! Lyla Mae flows better, but Renae is my middle name,so i'm having dilemmas deciding. Keep checking back for baby updates :)
